First emerging and becoming heavily submerged into the music scene back around 1996, Timbaland has been known as the go-to guy when it came to having a producer on an album.

His track record speaks for itself as he has worked with artists such as Lil Kim, Jay-Z, the L.O.X., LL Cool and Xzibit, along with staying loyal to his own click with Missy Elliot and introducing the world to Bubba Sparxx.

Now feeling that the generation he came from has now left, Timbo has decided to pack his bags as well and leave Hip Hop in the past.

His past release, Shock Value I and the newly released sequel has shown him working extensively with acts outside of the rap regime and enlisting the help of Katy Perry, Daughtry and even Miley Cyrus to create a pulse for his beats.

While with MTV, the producer spoke on making the transition and how he realized that the consumer isn't really looking out for Hip Hop music anymore or willing to actually go out and make a purchase.

"I know 75 percent [of the people who buy my album] are women who love Timbaland and most are the women who watch Desperate Housewives and all those others. I did this research. It's the women who watch Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives — all the real go-to-the-bar women like Timbaland, and mostly European women. It lets me know that my fanbase is mostly women and they are from all cultures. So it's not a person who loves mostly Hip Hop. It's a person who loves everything besides Hip Hop."

He also adds that this new mentality is nothing that was spur of the moment and that his time with the genre had come to a close quite some time ago.

"I was done with Hip Hop a long time ago. Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there's nobody from my generation besides Jay who's doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye is acceptable from my generation.

So it seems now that some rappers might have to look for a special invitation to be granted permission to work with Timbaland. Drake was privileged enough to receive such an honor with “Say Something”, but in all honesty, who really helped who with that feature?

As the pages continue to turn and the landscape of Hip Hop remains ever-changing, who else from the old day will finally bow out and let the curtains close?

Don't just watch Avatar, see it

There's a delicious irony in the fact that James Cameron has made a greenie movie that is the world's most expensive.

That he is urging us to put the brakes on our rapacious appetite for consumption with a film that has prompted many cinema owners to upgrade their biggest screens to 3D. That he has made an anti-military film that celebrates his love of warrior machines. That he reportedly directed his anti-authoritarian missive with all the cuddliness of Josef Stalin the morning after a three-bottles-of-vodka bender.

But don’t let any of that blind you to the virtues of Avatar, because they are immense.

Much of the chatter right now is about the "game-changing" special effects, and that's fair enough. There's a real sense that this will be the film that finally makes 3D cinema, which has been around since the 1950s, a mainstream form of storytelling rather than a mere freak show.

If that happens it will be because Avatar makes so little show of its 3D capabilities. Yes, everything looks like you could touch it, but there are no gratuitous hands looming out of the screen, no rollercoaster rides to show just how in-your-face the format can be, no flinging of dirt or spurting of blood or shooting of weapons into the middle of our gaze. The gaudily 3D moments are few, and generally at the margins of the screen: a flick of dirt as the hero Jake Sully's avatar runs for the first time through a field of corn; the passing of a spear tip off the side of the screen; the wafting of a fern frond at the bottom of the picture. Avatar's great leap forward is in shifting the technology of 3D from centrescreen to background. It's a movement from flashiness to modesty, from immaturity to maturity, from showboating to storytelling.

The trailer for the Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz action comedy "Knight and Day" is now online. The embed code doesn't work for LJ, so you have to click on the source link below to view. Opening on July 2, 2010, "Knight and Day" also stars Peter Saarsgard, Viola Davis, Olivier Martinez, Paul Dano, Maggie Grace and Mark Blucas.

Here's the official synopsis: "Knight and Day" centers on a lonely woman (Diaz) whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a super spy (Cruise) takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.

Here's the link to the trailer, via ComingSoon.net

Not the best trailer, but I like Tom and Cameron in these types of roles, so I'll probably check it out. I wish they would have made this 10 years ago, when they weren't so haggard looking. Anyone remember "Vanilla Sky"? The best part of that movie was when Cameron screams "I swallowed your cum!" before driving them both off of a bridge. Hopefully there will be something just as LOL-worthy in this movie.

ETA: Here's a YouTube version for the lazy, but with an Entertainment Tonight voiceover.

Eva Longoria Parker, the actress and L’Oréal Paris front woman, has delved deeper into beauty with a signature women’s scent, called Eva by Eva Longoria.

The eau de parfum, which was developed by Falic Fashion Group, is due to launch in the U.S. in spring.

“I have always been somewhat allergic to all perfumes and really wanted to create something that every woman could wear,” said Longoria Parker. “So I decided to create my own fragrance that is light, fresh and unique. I think the scent of a woman is extremely sexy and this scent will prove that.”

Longoria Parker, who stars in the ABC TV show “Desperate Housewives,” was closely involved with the scent’s creation, according to Jerome Falic, chief executive officer of Duty Free Americas, parent company of Hollywood, Fla.-based Falic Fashion Group.

“Eva was involved from Day One with all aspects of the project,” said Falic. “At the end of the day, it’s about Eva. She wanted something different, so we designed quite a few different [versions].”

“I never knew how complicated it was to create a unique scent that hasn’t already been done,” said Longoria Parker. “But I enjoyed the process.”

a couple of months back, kelly clarkson's song "Did You" leaked and it was said to have been written for the New Moon Sountrack. But in reality it was just a cast off song from her album My December that the twitards latched onto. However the song "Empty As I Am", which was actually inspired by the book, has been leaked.

Musician Steph Jones marches to the beat of his own drum in the new music video for his own rendition of the Christmas classic “The Little Drummer Boy.”

“I didn’t make this song just for Christmas,” Steph says. “It’s a song to inspire others and bring people together. When Jordin Sparks, B. Scott and I were marching with the drums, I imagined us being on the front line of a war. It was my way of saying that it doesn’t matter if you are man, women, gay or straight. We should all be able to come together and fight for a certain cause no matter who you are. And once we truly figure that out, then that’s when we grow as people.”

I know you all are perfect and have never said anything dumb, so you hate Jordin for one comment she made over a year ago. I think she looks pretty in this video. Plus, she has a really hot boyfriend. Happy Birthday to her!
